19th World Diabetes Congress
(3 - 7 December 2006)

Diabetes and Cancer Society of Maldives Participated in 19th World Diabetes Congress in Cape town, South Africa from 3-7 December 2006.

 

Two Delegates (Aishath Shiruhana (Director) and Naila Abdul Majeed (Community Educator)) attended the general council where the election for President elect, Vice President and other committees were elected.

 

Participated in the global sessions (South East Asia). Diabetes and Cancer Society gave a presentation on Disadvantaged and Vulnerable, based on Addu atoll and Male’ atoll diabetic screening programs which was conducted on 2005 – 2006.

 

Participated in the global village, more than 12,000 delegates visited.

 

DCSM team participated in the IDF 5K run to change diabetes.
